About Gizem

A yoga journey rooted in heart, curiosity, and 15 years of practice

Gizem — yoga instructor

My name is Gizem, and yoga found me at a crossroads in my life. What began as a search for physical relief became a profound journey inward — one I've never stopped walking. After more than 15 years of dedicated practice and teaching, I founded Rahasya Yoga to share what I've learned: that yoga is not about perfect poses, it's about perfect presence.

I am RYT-200 certified through Yoga Alliance and have trained in multiple traditions — from Hatha to Yin to therapeutic yoga. I believe every body has wisdom, and every student deserves a teacher who listens. My classes are not performances; they're conversations.

Based in New Hill, NC, I serve families, professionals, children, and curious souls throughout the Triangle Area. My approach is holistic: we work with the breath, the body, and the quiet mind together. Whether in your living room, your workplace, or under the open sky — I bring the practice to you.

Teaching Philosophy

Yoga is not a destination — it is the quality of attention you bring to each moment. I teach from this belief. My philosophy is rooted in three principles: meet each student where they are, honor the intelligence of the body, and let the practice evolve naturally over time.

Gizem — namaste
Rahasya = Gizem = Mystery

The name Rahasya comes from Sanskrit, meaning "mystery" or "secret." Gizem is the Turkish word for the same. In both traditions, mystery is not something to fear — it is an invitation to explore, to sit with the unknown, and to discover what lies beneath the surface of ordinary awareness. That is the spirit of this practice.

What I Believe

Every body is a yoga body

Breath is the teacher within

Progress is personal, not comparative

Yoga is a lifelong conversation
